The populace was 3,670 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Wolfforth was established in 1916, and advanced as a barns town when the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway assembled through the area. The town/city is titled after George Wolffarth, an early settler. Wolfforth is positioned at 33 30 14 N 102 0 43 W (33.503968, -102.011973). According to the United States Enumeration Bureau, the town/city has a total region of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2), of which 0.012 square miles (0.03 km2), or 0.41%, is water. The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 85.47% White, 1.29% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 12.06% from other competitions, and 0.78% from two or more competitions.

There were 900 homeholds out of which 43.6% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 61.3% were married couples living together, 15.4% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 19.6% were non-families.
