The Texas State Legislature officially recognizes Robstown as the place of birth of Texas Hold 'em poker.

The ethnic makeup of the town/city was 1 White, 1.41% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 27.12% from other competitions, and 2 from two or more competitions.

There were 3,644 homeholds out of which 42.4% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 53.1% were married couples living together, 24.3% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 16.6% were non-families.

The Robstown postal service contains a mural, Founding and Subsequent Development of Robstown, Texas, painted in 1941 by Alice Reynolds. Federally commissioned murals were produced from 1934 to 1943 in the United States through the Section of Painting and Sculpture, later called the Section of Fine Arts, of the Treasury Department. The region locally known as "Bluebonnet: positioned in the northwest region of town, right next to Robstown High School.

The region locally known as "Casa Blanca: A school was assembled on top of the burial site of a Native American chief.

Due to the history of the Native American burial ground a turtle was placed as a Native American motif in which it represents Mother Earth.
